Don Prittie, Chair Mr. Prittie began his thirty-five year marine career at Sewell's Marina in Horseshoe Bay where he worked as a dock boy during his teen years. He went on to be General Manager of Malibu Yacht Charters in Vancouver and then the Manager of the Malibu Club in Princess Louisa Inlet. For a period, Don served as the Executive Director of S.A.L.T.S. Society in Victoria. Don has held a number of positions with the Oak Bay Marine Group including the General Manager of the Northern Resorts and April Point Resort and most recently was the Senior Vice President of Operations. Don is currently General Manager of Canoe Cove Marina & Boatyard in Sidney, BC.

Barbara Desjardins Barbara Desjardins is a Physiotherapist and business woman. She is currently serving her first term as an Esquimalt Councillor with a varied portfolio over the term which has included: Parks and Recreation, Environment,Planning,Accessibility and Arts and Culture. Having lived on the Gorge waterway and now at Westbay in a floathome, she values the versatility and uniqueness of the Victoria waters.

Doug Enns Doug Enns is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Director with extensive executive management experience in information technologies, banking, mergers and acquisitions, and financial regulation and reorganization. He currently is the Chair of the board of WorkSafe BC and is also a member of the Royal Roads University board of governors. He is president of Douglas J. Enns & Associates, a specialist firm that provides in-depth consulting services to banking, business and government clients. As a resident of Greater Victoria, Enns views our harbour as a decided asset for all who live in the region and for visitors alike.

Bea Holland A long time resident of Vancouver Island and avid community activist, Ms. Holland lived most of her life (40 years) as a resident of Port Alberni. Currently, Bea is serving her fourth term on Victoria City Council. Her current portfolio includes planning, seniors, and the harbour. Her community experience includes community health care and Leadership Victoria. In 2002, she was awarded the Queen’s Jubilee Metal and has been the recipient of the Canadian Community Care Association Award. Her passion is developing strong and compassionate community services and has dedicated many years of volunteer work to community care, including home support.

Dan McAllister Dan McAllister is the General Manager of CKKQ FM and sister station CJZN FM. McAllister is a long time advocate for Victoria’s harbour and former Chair of Tourism Victoria. His knowledge of Victoria’s business community and the tourism industry will bring some additional energy to the issues facing the Board in 2007. McAllister replaces Mr. Stewart Johnston as the Tourism Victoria appointed Director. Johnston, the founding Chair of GVHA, finished his term at the end of December. The role of Chair is now filled by Mr. Don Prittie who succeeded Johnston in October.

Ian Maxwell Ian Maxwell is the owner/manager of the Ralmax Group of Companies, in business since 1978. Ian was a member of the Steering Committee during Transport Canada's Harbour Divestiture process and is well acquainted with Victoria's harbours.

Chief Andy Thomas Hereditary and working Chief of the Esquimalt Nation since 1972. Now on Executive Committee of the First Nations our South Island Tribal Council as the land claims Chairman. Has also been involved with Union of BC Indian Chiefs, and the Interim Council of Chiefs for the National Indian Brotherhood, assisting in the formation and structure of the Assembly of First Nations.

Bill Wellburn Bill Wellburn is a chartered accountant and University of Victoria graduate who has served on many community and business boards. He brings extensive financial savvy, strategic planning, and strong leadership to the board. Wellburn is the current Chair of the Provincial Capital Commission, which he represents, and is also Chair of Coast Capital Savings.

Randy Wright Extensive background in tourism and marine industrties, including 25 years with the Oak Bay Marine Group -- working up from fuel dock employee to Senior Vice-President. Is now Vice-President of Sales & Marketing at Harbour Air. Also serves as a Director of Sport Fishing Institute, Victoria/Esquimalt Harbour Society, Tourism Victoria, and the Victoria Harbour and Carriers Safety Committee. |
